THE DUNNE CAMPAIGN SNAPSHOT - A QUICK REFERENCE
I cannot vouch for the accuracy of all the material, but it does coincide with voting records. Good starting point
http://www.ontheissues.org/default.htm

I had to look at the voting record first. As the political rhetoric and position waffling begins, you must look back to the voting to get a sense of what the real candidates position is. They can claim to have had a change of heart or ideology but it is more unlikely than honest.

What are your key issues?  Keep in mind that we have many issues and problems facing us over the next decade. You should realistically prioritize them.  Example: For myself I had to structure it this way.

  • Government Reform - #1
  • Foreign Policy
  • War & Peace
  • Jobs - Education - Crime - War on Drugs
  • Free Trade - Tax Reform
  • Energy & Oil - Environment
  • Corporate Tax Reform - Individual Tax Reform
  • Homeland Security - Immigration - Border Security
  • Budget & Economy - Social Security - Welfare & Poverty - Civil Rights
  • Health Care - Medicare/Medicaid
  • Families & Children - Abortion - Principles & Values
  • Gun Control

The way I see it is relatively simple. The most important issue without doubt is government corruption and special interest. We will never solve other issues without regaining control of the government. Lobbies, special interest, wealthy elite and global, un-American interests.

For myself, I have researched simply by using the same tools available here. What the candidates say and what they invision are meaningless to me. What they have done and how they voted is the only thing I am interested in. Therefore my candidates are anti-war, anti-military spending, anti-WTO and NAFTA as it stands now, pro-constitution and speak directly about government corruption and control by foreign interests and global corporations.  So far that is only Ron Paul, John Edwards and Dennis Kucinich. Republican or Democrat is meaningless and this administration has confirmed that the two party system should be disolved. There was absolutely no bipartisan progress made since Bush took office.
